Characteristics –
Preliminary Data
The following chartsshow typicalbehavior. These figures are not testedduring manu-
facturing. All current consumption measurements are performedwith all I/Opins
configured as inputs andwith internalpull-ups enabled.Asine wave generatorwithrail-
to-rail output is used asclock source.
The powerconsumption in Power-downmodeis independent ofclock selection.
The current consumption is a function ofseveralfactors such as: Operating voltage,
operating frequency, loading ofI/Opins, switching rate ofI/Opins, codeexecuted and
ambient temperature. The dominating factors areoperating voltage andfrequency.
The current drawn from capacitive loadedpins maybeestimated(for one pin) as
C
L
*V
CC
*f where C
L
=loadcapacitance, V
CC
= operating voltage andf=average switch-
ing frequency ofI/Opin.
The parts are characterized at frequencieshigher than test limits.Parts are not guaran-
teed to function properly at frequencieshigher than theordering codeindicates.
The difference between current consumption in Power-downmode withWatchdog
Timer enabled and Power-downmode withWatchdog Timerdisabledrepresents the dif-
ferentialcurrent drawn by the Watchdog Timer.
